SUPPLIER SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROGRAM
USL Cargo Services is committed to acquiring services and products from suppliers and teaming up with business partners that share our commitment to quality, innovation, sustainability, social responsibility and customer satisfaction. Creating a sustainable supply base and deploying environmentally conscious business practices is critical to our long-term success and growth. We firmly believe that our success is not measured in purely financial terms. We believe that the way we go about achieving our success is as important as the bottom line results.
Our strategic plan includes a focus on implementing responsible internal sourcing policies and practices, as well as promoting the sustainability and social responsibility of our global supply chain. Key focus areas include:
-
Responsible Sourcing: We incorporate sustainability into the strategic sourcing process for services and develop environmentally conscious sourcing policies for the procurement of services and goods that protect the environment and human health.
-
Supplier Performance and Risk Management: We monitor and assess the business and operational performance of our global supply chain and implement sourcing practices that will enable us to find the right services and business partners to provide the services required by our customers.
-
Product Stewardship and Material Compliance: We support corporate environmental objectives to create more environmentally friendly services and products that reduce or eliminate the use of hazardous substances and other chemicals of concern.
-
Safe and Hygienic Working Conditions: A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided. All possible steps are taken to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace by minimizing the causes of hazards inherent in the working environment.
-
No Child Labor: The utilization of child labor is strictly prohibited.
-
Reasonable Working Hours: Working hours comply with national laws and benchmark industry standards, whichever affords greater protection to our employees.
-
Payment of Living Wages: Wages and benefits paid for a standard working week must meet, at a minimum, national legal standards or industry benchmark standards, whichever is higher.
